Isaac Ben-Israel was born in Israel (Tel-Aviv), 1949. He studied Mathematics, Physics and Philosophy at Tel-Aviv University, receiving his Ph.D. in 1988. He joined the Israel Air Force (IAF) after graduating high school (1967) and has served continuously up to his retirement (2002). During his service, Isaac Ben-Israel has held several posts in operations, intelligence and weapon development units of the IAF. He headed the IAF Operations Research Branch, Analysis and Assessment Division of IAF Intelligence, and was the Head of Military R&D in Israel Defence Forces and Ministry of Defence (1991-1997). In January 1998 he was promoted to Major General and appointed as Director of Defence R&D Directorate in IMOD. During his service he received twice the Israeli Defence Award.

After retirement from the IDF Isaac Ben Israel joined the University of Tel-Aviv as a professor and was the head of Curiel Centre for International Studies (2002-2004), the head of the Program for Security Studies (2004-2007), Executive Director of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Technological Analysis & Forecasting at Tel-Aviv University (ICTAF) (2010-2013), Deputy Director of the Hartog School of Government and Policy in Tel-Aviv University (2005-2015) and a member of Jaffe Centre for Strategic Studies (2002-2004). In 2002 he founded and headed the Yuval Ne’eman Workshop for Science, Technology and Security. He was a member of the Board of Trustees of Ariel University Centre (2009-2011), and a member of the advisory council of Neaman Institute for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology at the Technion (2000-2010). In 2002 he founded RAY-TOP (Technology Opportunities) Ltd, consulting governments and industries in technological and strategic issues.

Professor Ben-Israel was a member of the 17th Knesset (Israeli Parliament) between June 2007 and February 2009. During this period he was a member of the Security and Foreign Affairs Committee, the Finance Committee, the Science & Technology committee, the Chairman of the Homeland Security Sub Committee and the Chairman of the Israeli–Indian Parliamentary Friendship Association.

In 2011 he was appointed by the Prime Minister to lead a task force that formulated Israel national cyber policy. Following that he founded the National Cyber Headquarters in the PM Office. In 2014 he was appointed again by the PM to lead another task force which resulted in a government decision (February 2015) to set up a new National Cyber Authority. Isaac Ben Israel was a member of the board of directors of IAI (2000-2002), the board of the Israel Corp. (2004-2007) and the R&D advisory board of TEVA (2003-2007) and Chairman of the Technion Entrepreneurial Incubator (2007). He was the Chairman of Israel National R&D council between 2010-2016.

Professor Ben-Israel has written numerous papers on military and security issues. His book Dialogues on Science and Military Intelligence (1989) won the Itzhak-Sade Award for Military Literature. His book on The Philosophy of Military Intelligence had been published by the Broadcast University (1999) and has been translated into French (2004). His book Science, Technology and Security: From Soldiers in Combat up to Outer Space, was published in 2006. His book on Israel Defence Doctrine was published in 2013.
Isaac is married to Inbal (née Marcus) and they have three sons: Yuval (1981), Roy (1984) and Alon (1988).

Meir Feder is a Chaired Professor, holder of the Information Theory Chair, at the School of Electrical Engineering, Tel-Aviv University. He is also the head of the newly established Tel-Aviv university center for Artificial intelligence and Data science (TAD). In addition, he is a Visiting Professorship appointment at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His research interests are in information theory, signal processing communication and learning. Parallel to his academic career, he is closely involved with the high-tech industry. He founded 5 companies, among them Peach Networks (Acq: MSFT) and Amimon (Acq:LON.VTC). Recently, with his renewed interest in machine learning and AI, he co-founded Run:ai, a virtualization, orchestration, and acceleration platform for AI infrastructure. Prof. Feder is an IEEE Life fellow. He received several academic and professional awards including the IEEE Information Theory Society best paper award for his work on universal prediction, the “creative thinking” award of the Israeli Defense Forces, and the Research Prize of the Israeli Electronic Industry, awarded by the President of Israel. For the development of Amimon’s chip-set, that uses a unique MIMO implementation of joint source-channel coding for wireless video transmission he is a co-reciepient of the 2020 Scientific and Engineering Award of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He is also the principal inventor of the technology behind the product Teradek Bolt 4K that attained the 73rd Engineering Emmy Award of the Television Academy.

Lior Wolf is a full professor at the School of Computer Science at Tel-Aviv University. Previously, he was a post-doctoral associate in Prof. Poggio's lab at MIT. He graduated from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, where he worked under the supervision of Prof. Shashua. Lior Wolf is an ERC grantee and has received the best paper awards at ECCV 2000, the post ICCV 2009 workshop on eHeritage, the pre-CVPR2013 workshop on action recognition, ICANN 2016, Face&Gesture 2021, and SCIA 2023. He was also awarded the ICCV 2001 Marr Prize honorable mention and the runner-up for the best paper award at ICCV 2019. His research focuses on computer vision and deep learning and includes topics such as object detection, medical imaging, applications of AI in physics, voice generation, natural language processing, and video action recognition.

Yoav Shoham is professor emeritus of computer science at Stanford University. A leading AI expert, Prof. Shoham is Fellow of AAAI, ACM and the Game Theory Society. Among his awards are the IJCAI Research Excellence Award, the AAAI/ACM Allen Newell Award, and the ACM/SIGAI Autonomous Agents Research Award. His online Game Theory course has been watched by close to a million people. Prof. Shoham has co-founded several AI companies, including TradingDynamics (acquired by Ariba), Katango and Timeful (both acquired by Google), and AI21 Labs. Prof. Shoham is also the founding chair of the AI Index initiative (www.AIindex.org), which tracks global AI activity and progress, and co-founder of WeCode (www.wecode.org.il), a nonprofit initiative to train high-quality programmers from disadvantaged populations, now part of Reichman University. Yoav also chairs the Scientific Advisory Committee of Israel’s National AI Initiative.  

Prof. Ariel Porat was elected the ninth President of Tel Aviv University in May 2019. After receiving his LLB degree and direct JSD degree at TAU, he performed post-doctoral studies at Yale Law School. In 1990, he joined TAU’s Buchmann Faculty of Law, where he is the incumbent of the Alain Poher Chair in Private Law. He is a member of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities.
Prof. Porat's main research interests are torts, contract law and the economic analysis of the law, and he has published many books and articles in these areas. He served for 15 years as an Associate Member and Fischel-Neil Distinguished Visiting Professor of Law at the University of Chicago (2003-2019). He was also Visiting Professor at Stanford University, and at the Universities of New York, Columbia, Berkeley, Virginia and Toronto. He was a member of the Board of the American Law and Economics Association for three years, and is a member of the American Law Institute.
From 2002 to 2006, Prof. Porat served as Dean of the Buchmann Faculty of Law, during which period he introduced joint LLM programs together with the UC Berkeley and Northwestern University. He also founded an admittance program for students from Israel’s geographic and social periphery, which was initially at the Law Faculty and thereafter adopted throughout the University. Prior to his appointment as Dean, Prof. Porat was Director of the Cegla Center for Interdisciplinary Research of the Law (1997-2002), where he founded the journal Theoretical Inquiries in Law, today ranked as one of the world's leading journals in the field of law theory.
Prof. Porat has been the recipient of numerous honors, among them the EMET Prize, Chesin Prize, Zeltner Prize and Zusman Prize.

Michal Yarom is a research engineer at Google Research with 8+ years of expertise in computer vision, natural language processing, generative models and large vision language models. She is developing methods to evaluate and improve the text and image alignment in large vision language models and also focusing on using generative models to evaluate biases in computer vision models. Before joining Google, she was a researcher at Microsoft, developing NLP models for action item extraction. Michal holds a MSc. in Computer Science from the Weizmann institute of Science.

Shie Mannor has been with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technion since 2008 where he is a professor, the co-director of the Tech.AI Center, and the Edwards Chair in Engineering. Shie is also a distinguished scientist at Nvidia Research and a co-founder of Jether Energy Research. Shie has published over 250 papers in leading venues and holds 12 patents. His papers were cited over 28,000 times and his h-index is 85. Shie’s research interests include machine learning and data science with an emphasis on reinforcement learning, planning and control, and analysis and control of large-scale systems. Shie has been active in the high-tech industry in Israel, Canada and the US where he has consulted to dozens of companies over the years and has co-founded four companies.
 

I am an associate professor at the Blavatnik School of Computer Science in Tel-Aviv University. My research focuses on Computer Graphics, Computer Vision, and Computational Fabrication (3D printing). I use Machine Learning (of course...) and Geometry Processing to advance and connect these fields. Previously, I was a postdoctoral Researcher at the Princeton Graphics Group, hosted by Professor Szymon Rusinkiewicz and Professor Thomas Funkhouser. Before that, I was a postdoctoral researcher at Disney Research Zurich. I have conducted my Ph.D. studies at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Markus Gross, in collaboration with the computational materials group of Disney Research Zurich. My Masters and Bachelors degrees were obtained at The Technion - Israel Institute of Technology under the supervision of Prof. Craig Gotsman.

Professor Noam Shomron is passionate about using basic science to advance better healthcare. Professor Shomron heads the Functional Genomic Team at the Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University after training at MIT. He leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists that develops computational methods for parsing big data in the bio-medical field using Artificial Intelligence. Shomron applied for more than 30 patents and published more than 200 peer-reviewed publications on multiple genomic fields, including medicine, agriculture, and business. Shomron also leads the Tel Aviv University Innovation Lab (TILabs) on Digital Medicine. He is the Editor of ‘Deep Sequencing Data Analysis’ book (Springer, Edition I 2013, and II 2021); Director of ‘Rare-Genomics’ Israel (NPO); Academic Director of ‘ScienceAbroad’ (NPO); Co-founder of Variantyx, which provides clinical whole genome sequencing services; Co-founder of GotSho, a software platform for genetic and biomedical labs; Co-founder of IdentifAI that establishes noninvasive prenatal diagnostics at a single nucleotide resolution from a first-trimester blood test; Co-founder of Everly Bio, that assists IVF processes via big data analysis. 
 

Oren is the CTO of the Technology Unit within the INCD, and an overall technology enthusiast. As part He has been active in the High-Tech industry for the past 25 years, in various domains - software development, Cloud, AI, Telco, Satellite, Mobile, Ecommerce.
Prior to the INCD, Oren worked 5 years in the Privacy Protection Authority, a regulator within the Israeli MOJ, serving as deputy director of enforcement, where he conducted large-scale cybercrime investigations, utilizing various  computer forensics methodologies. Prior to that, Oren worked in various high-tech companies, large enterprises & startups, mostly in designing the Next-Generation product line.
Oren holds a B.S.C. in computer science & operational research, and an M.B.A. from Tel-Aviv university executive program.

Nadav Cohen is an Asst. Professor of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University, and Chief Scientist at Imubit. His academic research revolves around the theoretical and algorithmic foundations of deep learning, while at Imubit he leads the development of deep reinforcement learning systems controlling industrial manufacturing lines. Nadav earned a BSc in electrical engineering and a BSc in mathematics (both summa cum laude) at the Technion Excellence Program for Distinguished Undergraduates. He obtained his PhD (direct track, summa cum laude) at the Hebrew University, and was subsequently a postdoctoral scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. For his contributions to deep learning, Nadav won a number of awards, including the Google Research Scholar Award, the Google Doctoral Fellowship in Machine Learning, the Final Prize for Machine Learning Research, the Rothschild Postdoctoral Fellowship, the Zuckerman Postdoctoral Fellowship, and TheMarker's 40 under 40 list.

Mor Geva is an Assistant Professor at the Blavatnik School of Computer Science at Tel Aviv University and a Visiting Researcher at Google Research. Her research is in the field of Natural Language Processing, where she studies the inner-workings of language models in order to increase their transparency and efficiency, control their operation, and improve their reasoning abilities. Mor completed a Ph.D. (direct track) in Computer Science and a B.Sc. in Bioinformatics, both at Tel Aviv University, and was a postdoctoral researcher at Google DeepMind and at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2). She was nominated as one of the MIT Rising Stars in EECS and is a laureate of the Séphora Berrebi Scholarship in Computer Science. She recently received an Outstanding Paper Award at EACL 2023.

Yaniv Shechtman brings more than 15 years of experience in the Product Management area, specializing in cyber security, enterprise IT and mobile products. Prior to Check Point Yaniv served as a VP of Product Management at Deep Instinct and as a Product Manager at Palo Alto Networks. In his current role, Yaniv focuses on helping to define the Threat Prevention, AI, and Security Operations vision to ensure Check Point’s products are always ahead of modern attackers, and are able to prevent zero-day threats before everyone else.

Ziv heads Israel’s National Program for AI Infrastructure, which is a coordinated, collaborative government effort aimed at ensuring Israel’s future leadership in the global AI arena. The program is focused on the long-term infrastructure required for promoting sustained innovation and growth. At its first stage, the program focuses on four pillars – Establishing an Israeli High-Performance Computer; Creating infrastructure for Natural Language Processing in Sematic languages that will fuel innovation and support AI assimilation in public sector services; Extending human capital in the Israeli academia and removing regulatory barriers to AI based innovations. The program is a mutual effort of Israel’s Ministry of Innovations, Science and Technology, Israeli Innovation Authority, the Directorate of Defense Research and Development, the Higher Education Council and the Ministry of Finance. Ziv is a versatile multi-disciplinary technologist with profound knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, communication networks, big data, and distributed systems. He is an experienced manager with proven capabilities of working at matrix environments as well as direct management skills, a versed innovation leader, and a growth-oriented CTO. Ziv holds a MSc. degree from the department for Software and Information Systems Engineering at the Ben Gurion’s University of the Negev and is about to complete his PhD studies researching the vulnerability of AI systems to adversarial manipulaitons.

Dr. Tomer Simon is the Chief Scientist of Microsoft Israel R&D Center in the CTO Office. Tomer has deep expertise in AI and quantum computing, and in designing and leading digital transformations of large organizations and operations.
